Mason Mount has turned down Chelsea's offer of a new contract and is dissatisfied with the proposals made, according to reports.

The end of the upcoming season will mark the end of Mount 's current contract at Stamford Bridge.

Despite the £600 million spending binge Chelsea engaged in over the last two transfer windows, Mount has continued to play a regular role in the Chelsea lineup.

He has appeared in all six Champions League group stage games and started 19 of the 21 Premier League games played so far this season.

However, Chelsea has yet to make Mount an acceptable contract extension offer, even knowing how Graham Potter considers him as important.

The Mail claimed that the two parties' financial positions are very different.

According to reports, Mount wants to triple his current salary to match some of the club's highest earners. The 24-year-old is being paid £80,000 per week in salary.

Chelsea is reportedly unwilling to pay Mount as much as a player like Raheem Sterling, who transferred from Manchester City last summer and became one of the highest-paid players at the west London side right away.

Chelsea's most recent offer to Mount is far less than Sterling's salary.

Although discussions have been put on pause, they will probably start up again soon. Chelsea won't want Mount to sign his last year of employment knowing that he might depart for free in the summer of 2024.

According to reports, Mount is not pleased with the deal Chelsea has given. At age six, the attacking midfielder made his debut for the Blues' first squad in 2019.
